Girls Soccer Welcomes New Coach

Mr. Jaramillo, the new girls’ soccer coach, has ten years of coaching experience prior to this season, although this is his first-year coaching here at Braddock.

With a new coach and new system in place, these girls have some adjusting to do. Despite the season’s rocky start, the main goal is to eventually be one of the best teams in the district, or possibly one of the best teams in the state. In an exclusive interview with Jaramillo, he said “I want my girls to know that I can also make mistakes and my players must be understanding about many things especially when they disagree with the fact that they are not getting a chance to play. An example of making a tough call or decision is when they are on the bench and they want to be part of the game but as a coach, I need to make calls and decisions that will not always please every player.”

Jaramillo also said his proudest moment of coaching was “seeing the team I had coached develop, growing both physically and mentally.” He feels as if his past soccer players have matured throughout the years, as he coached them and this is exactly what he looks forward to with the lady bulldog’s soccer team. The soccer season began on November 6 and will end on January 16, the team hopes to see you supporting on the sidelines.
