The girls flag football team has played 4 games this season (including preseason)and still have seven more to come. Their debut game was Feb 28th, which was a preseason game against Miami Killian Senior High. Their district record is 2-0, after defeating South Miami yesterday 25-12.
With Coach Server leading the charge for the girls flag football team for the second year, this season is looking good with plenty of potential. Last season the girls flag football record was 4-5. In an interview with Coach Server he said, “This year, we look to improve. We made districts last year, which we are also hoping to make this year and a higher seed.”
Server also gushed about the improvements he has seen in the team. He said, “I’m most excited for the new athletes on the team and I already see that we are a lot better now than last year. Senior Jillian Falcon says she can see a difference too. She said, “It’s so amazing to see how far we’ve come, I’m glad to be able to be apart of it.”
The team has had several memorable moments this season, with several players achieving big firsts. Senior Jasmine Zuniga scored her first touchdown against South Miami and Jillian Falcon had a successful interception against Coral Park.
